Julie Jalil
is an artist based in the Austin/San Marcos area. She began painting in 2004. An eclectic artist, Jalil typically works in oils, acrylic, and/or cut paper. As seen on these pages, Jalil continually experiments with style and subject matter.
Her "Eclectic" series includes some of her earliest works as she learned technique by studying the work of modern masters.
Her “Dancing Through Life” series focuses on the human body in motion. Her “Women of the World” series offers a serious examination of women from across the globe, with an emphasis on Middle Eastern and African women. Her “Cow Town” series uses colorful cows to express the fun, whimsical side of life.
In Fall 2009 and early 2010 Jalil completed an Abstract series. At the same time, her New Works include some pieces that juxtapose human figures against abstract backgrounds. In 2010 she will be working on a "Sensual" series as well as a “Queens of the Blues” series.
